Wow, It has been ages since I have updated this blog. The exciting news I have today is that I sent off the application form! Now all I have to do is wait for a confirmation email that they recieved my application form and then wait four months (according to Emma) for confirmation of if I got into the programme....exciting

Important emails and the passport

I have just sent off an email to one of my french lecturers asking for a reference on my competence to speak French, I wrote the email in French with some help from mum as I have a knack for putting the wrong verb endings in when I write. The email is very formal especially the last line which translates to something like "with my sincerest good wishes" which is maybe going a bit far.... but better to be too formal than too informal. I had very good intentions to get my passport done yesterday however I forgot that I needed someone who had a New Zealand passport to fill in some of the form. Mums partner Johan is out as he has a South African passport. I am not sure when I will be able to do it, I am thinking either Monday morning or I will wait until next Tuesday again, I am making slow progress on the application form but it is coming together. I am really enjoying reading Adam's blogs at the moment as they give a good insight into what it will be like.

Passport photos, the application form and general stuff

So here I am early for work again surprise, surprise. Yesterday I got passport photos as I have to renew my passport before I leave and I also need some for the application form so I killed two birds with one stone. I have to say that the regulations for passport photos are strict, I am amazed anyone can look attractive in their photo when they don't even let you smile, mine had to be retaken as my mouth was open just a bit I mean come on. The applications close in January so I need to get moving, this weekend I am going to be emailing my two french lecturers to ask if they can be references on my application form I am also going to fill in the passport renewal form and go to the office on Tuesday to hand it in. So nothing really exciting happening but I feel as if I am on my way. I am also continuing my saving scheme

I just found the application form and what a mission it is going to be filling it out, thank goodness I have my mum to help me. I am excited that some of the Academies that I can go to are so close to my family in France, I so hope I will get a posting there it would be great to have friends close by. The plan is to have mum print off the form tomorrow at work and spend my weekend which is Tuesday and Wednesday reading it through and thinking of who to ask to be my teacher references, I am excited!!!!!!!!!!!!

Savings and the application process

I recently got my dream job as a library assistant at the University of Canterbury. It is however a fixed term role for three months. I am using this time to save up money for France and considering the salary I am recieving is good then I will have quite a bit when it is finished.

The applications open this month, my friend Emma tells me that she finished her application around Christmas which makes me think that the application form is a long one and complicated to fill out, I will get my mum to help me:).
